Getting to Alamos is part of the whole experience…Here are your options…


Sonora is fortunate to have a good and well-maintained four lane highway that makes the drive from the border to Alamos safe and straight forward. This same highway also connects Alamos to all points south. From Navojoa to Alamos, it’s a 30 mile drive (50 kms) on a good two lane road with nice scenery. Ciudad Obregon (airport code CEN) is the closest international airport. All flights go through Hermosillo, Guadalajara or Mexico City. The main airline carrier is Aero Mexico (and their subsidiary, Aero Litoral). There are also regular flights to Tijuana and other cities in Baja on Aero Calafia and Volaris.
We can arrange ground transportation from the airport to Alamos by prior arrangement. Rental cars are also available at the airport. It is a little over an hour from the airport to Alamos.
Flights into Los Mochis, Sinaloa are also an option however it is about a 2 1/2 hour drive from Los Mochis to Alamos.

There is excellent and economical first class bus service from Tucson to Navojoa or Alamos on a daily basis. The bus stops in the major cities between Nogales and Alamos, but it is a very straight forward journey and a good introduction to Mexico! The times vary and the cost is approximately $50 usd one-way. The TBC/Albatross bus company has a daily bus to Alamos and they are located at 1428 S.6th Ave. (two blocks south of 22nd) and their phone is 520.903.2801. The advantage of this bus is that it comes to Alamos and you don’t have to change buses. For the return trip, there is a bus that leaves Alamos at 9:00 p.m. and gets you back to Tucson around 10:00 a.m. the following day.
There is another option, which is Tufesa. This bus company is considered to be slightly better than TBC/Albatross and they have several departures from Tucson going south, throughout the day. Take the bus as far as Navojoa, where you get off the bus, walk one short block and catch the regular bus to Alamos (they leave every 1/2 to hour from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. every day).
